Connect with Nature in Your Own Backyard

Wednesday November 6 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Conversations about our climate can understandably bring up feelings of grief and anxiety, but the joy and wonder that can still be found in our own backyards is something to hold on to. “Connect with Nature in your Own Backyard” is an event that will explore the treasures found in the local landscape. This free event will be held at the Nelson Public Library on Wednesday, November 6, 7pm as part the library’s Climate Action Week.

During the event, there will be stations set up with special guests to guide the exploration of three areas:  bats, ecological gardening and native plant seeds and the iNaturalist app, which can be used to identify local plants and animals. Special guests include the KinSeed Ecologies, Native Bee Society, Kootenay Bats and Paul Prappas, a local educator.
