Books and resources
Libraries throughout British Columbia have collections of books for adults, teens and children in many languages. Ask a librarian for assistance getting books sent to the Nelson library for you. With your card, you can also access our adult literacy collection, which contains interesting and informative books in English that are written at levels intended for readers learning English. Books include adapted classics as well as new favourites.
Events and programs
Everyone is welcome to attend a library event, whether they have a library card or not. Usually you do not have to register for events, but when we are worried about having space for everyone, we need people to register. The library hosts events specifically for newcomers regularly. Check out the event calendar for details or call the library for more information about upcoming events for newcomers.
