National Resources

  • Canadian Government: Climate Change — Web portal to resources and policies
  • Canada’s Changing Climate Report (CCRR) — Released in 2019, this report is about how and why Canada’s climate has changed and what changes are projected for the future.
  • Climate Atlas of Canada — Combines climate science, mapping, and storytelling together with Indigenous Knowledges and community-based research and video to inspire awareness and action.
  • Indigenous Climate Hub — Provides access to climate change resources tools for Indigenous peoples to monitor and adapt to our ever changing climate. The platform also acts as a hub for Indigenous climate change leaders working on similar issues to come together and build from each others knowledge and experiences.

First Hand Stories of Climate Change (Canada)

  • First Hand Climate Change Stories: Norma’s Story (video) – Watch this award-winning short, animated film about CMN co-Research Director Norma Kassi’s story of growing up in the Indigenous community of Old Crow Flats in Northern Yukon. It documents the effects of climate change on the environment, culture and food security of the Vuntut Gwitchin people as seen through her eyes.
  • First Person story: I’m a Climate Refugee (CBC)  – This First Person column is written by Rubaiyat Karim, a Bangladeshi Canadian living in Toronto.

Embodied Carbon

  • Standard on Embodied Carbon in Construction — What is embodied carbon? Embodied carbon forms a significant proportion of the whole life carbon emissions from construction projects. This standard sets minimum requirements for the procurement of design and construction services to disclose and reduce the embodied carbon of major construction projects. Major construction projects typically include the renovation or new construction of buildings or engineering assets.
